June already?! Seriously??...time goes so fast for me and I try so hard to keep up with my blog but it's just impossible. There is only one of me and too many jobs for this one me to do everyday. I've been staying busy with a lot of new work and playing music with my awesome partner, Danny. Sister Redden Hair is playing every week and it's festival season so a lot of special events and private parties are being booked all the time. Our Beatles show is coming up next week and I can't wait! Danny and I are both major "Beatlemaniacs" and we have our own 2 hour Beatles concert that we perform. It's a lot of fun and a lot of audience participation. I wish, wish, wish we could do nothing but perform that show all year long!
I've already had a busy few months with some really great photography jobs. They all bring me so much happiness...I can never stress enough how much I appreciate my clients and the support of my work, I am so thankful for every opportunity. My jewelry designs continue to evolve and grow and I have to work in those extra work days, too, just to let the creativity flow. I'm thankful God made me an artist, I can't imagine what life would be like any other way. Friends say I need to slow down, I need to rest more, but honestly, I enjoy having a full plate. I like the constant juggling act. I look forward to the next task and keeping my focus on my to-do list. We only get to go around once in this lifetime and I'm squeezing everything I can out of every single day I'm given! I did take a little time in my garden last weekend...planting, weeding, and watering. I love my gardens and the time alone in them. They are my sanctuary away from the hustle bustle if only for a few hours. So there we have it, I FINALLY got a few minutes to share some thoughts and what I've been up to with you. Who knows how long it will be until next time so take care of yourselves, be kind to Mother Earth, and love each other! :)

This has been one busy year of festivals for me. From the art festivals to the music festivals, I've enjoyed them all. Sunday closed the last big festival of the year for me, Poage Landing Days. It's my busiest of the year because of the many hats I wear. I'm the Poage festival photographer, I set up a booth in the art tent with my friends, and I performed on the main stage this year with my partner, Danny, in our duo show, Sister Redden Hair. Three days completely packed with live music, great food, games and rides, cars, motorcycles, skateboarders, fiddlers, and beauty queens. Country artist, Clay Walker, was the headliner this year and he put on one fantastic show for his fans in Ashland, KY. They'll be finding confetti downtown until next summer! :)
The weekend before was another favorite of mine, XFest 2011, in Huntington, WV. That's a one day Rock'n'Roll fest that brought the Carnival of Madness to town this year. X106.3 does such a great job putting that together every year. I had the pleasure of photographing Zeroking, Stacee Lawson, Bobaflex, Black Stone Cherry, Alter Bridge, and Theory of a Deadman. I was a "first-timer" at this year's Rally on the River in Ironton, OH. I got to photograph with two of my super talented photog buds, Heather and Brian May. Harley Davidsons as far as the eye could see and a tremendous weekend of live music. I had a blast photographing The Return, Zeroking, Mojo King, Texas Hippie Coalition, Finger Eleven, Stone Machine, Rebel Son, Split Nixon, Saving Abel, and Seven Mary Three. It's been a really awesome year of work for me so far and I'm so thankful for all the wonderful experiences I've had. I've made a lot of new friends and it's always great to see the ones I haven't seen in too long to mention. :) I've photographed more bands than ever and look forward to what's around the corner. Hard to believe it's already September (which means the holiday season is quickly approaching, yikes!). I'm excited about all the new artwork I'm working on for the studio, the new jewelry designs I'll be adding to my collection and the upcoming gigs with Danny. My calendar is still rockin' and I'm going to do my best to check in sooner! Enjoy some of the images I've captured the past few weeks! Until next time...Peace ~Love ~ Art :) |
