Studio remodel, Festivals, and Gigs...oh my!

Last month I finished up a job I've wanted to do forever...remodel the studio!  One night I started rehanging a few things and patched a few holes and that was it.  I hit the paint store the next day and started without second guessing anything, just totally went for it.  Danny and I have been sharing our studio for almost 6 years now.  It's amazing how much piles up right in front of your eyes without realizing it.  I had paint tubes hard as bricks in the supply closet, displays that had seen better days, and brand new things I'd totally forgotten about buying.  I'll miss our purple walls but it's all fresh and all new and all rearranged and it feels wonderful in there!

Well, it's official ~ Art Festival season has begun for me and I couldn't be happier to already have two weekend's worth under my belt along with a jewelry show.  I've spent many, many hours creating a lot of new designs that I'm really proud of.  My jewelry collection continues to grow week by week.  This week is First Friday at the Pendleton and the weather forecast is looking good for us to have the street blocked for the art walk and filled with classic cars and the outdoor stage rockin' with live music!

Last weekend me and my art and photog buds, Libby and JBird, road tripped to Newport, KY.  Newport on the Levee and Art on the Levee hosted their first Arts Fest and we were among 65 artists there.  It was a great weekend and I was thrilled to see the variety of work.  I always enjoy trips to Newport so it was especially nice to spend the whole weekend, have fun, sell art, and meet new friends.

Add in to the insane schedule that is my life, Danny and I are learning a ton of new music and have started on originals.  Sister Redden Hair has several shows coming up and we're having a ball with the new technology we are working into the acoustic show.  We have a show for a Haiti benefit this Saturday afternoon, a fundraiser next Friday evening and an American Cancer Society fundraiser next Saturday evening.  The calendar is filling quickly for the summer and I'm so excited!

I promise to try and keep my blog updated more often but this "one woman show" only has so many hours in her day. :)
